Irish Repertory Theatre’s “THE DEAD, 1904” returns to the American Irish Historical Society this fall for a seven-week run, November 16th through January 5th, and all tickets (including “show only” tickets) are now on sale!
STANDARD TICKETS include the holiday feast, interpreted from James Joyce’s “The Dead” by famed New York City caterer, Great Performances, as well as wine and spirits.
Audience members with SHOW ONLY tickets will observe the dinner scene from a seat at the edge of the dining room — with a nice glass of wine!
At each performance, there is the opportunity for four PREMIUM TICKET holders to be seated with the cast, placing them at the center of the famous dinner scene.
Scenes from previous productions of THE DEAD, 1904
Adapted from James Joyce’s immortal story by Paul Muldoon and Jean Hanff Korelitz and produced by Dot Dot Productions, Kathleen Begala and Laurie Eustis for Irish Repertory Theatre, THE DEAD, 1904 ran for a total of 150 performances over three holiday seasons in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Staged as an immersive theater event at the American Irish Historical Society with a full meal interpreted from the novella by Great Performances, the production quickly became a beloved feature of New York City’s holiday season.
PRIVATE PERFORMANCES OF THE DEAD, 1904
As in the past, private performances of THE DEAD, 1904 will be an exciting option for the 2024 run of the show, and may be purchased via tax deductible donation to Irish Repertory Theatre. At a private performance, the entire house is reserved by an individual, association or company, and all may opt to purchase an entire performance of the play for their friends and colleagues, inclusive of all food, drink and a very special holiday party in 1904 Dublin. Private performance attendees may enjoy post-performance receptions with the cast, and gatherings with the play’s adaptors, director, or scholars of James Joyce’s works, as desired. A truly magical private holiday event. For more information, contact Nina K. Matza as soon as possible.
